How we draw the regions

Singapore's Urban Redevelopment Authority divides the island into five planning regions: Central, North, North-East, East and West. We follow those five regions with two everyday exceptions. Katong, Joo Chiat and Geylang go in the East, and one-north goes in the West, because that is how most people in Singapore describe them, even though URA's map places them in the Central Region.

A seller appears in a region when it has a shop or kiosk there that we could confirm. Chains with many outlets, such as Polar and Délifrance, and online-only sellers, such as Bake Mission, are listed separately because we have not mapped every branch. If you want delivery rather than a shop, our pie delivery guide compares fees and lead times.

Why does the North look empty?

The North looks empty because we could not confirm a specialist pie shop in Woodlands, Yishun or Sembawang, not because nobody there sells a pie. Heartland bakeries and mall chains almost certainly do. We only list what we can verify, so the North guide explains the nearest options instead.
