The North-East Region runs from Ang Mo Kio and Serangoon out to Hougang, Sengkang and Punggol. It is dense, residential and well served by malls, but specialist pie makers are thin on the ground in our research.
Where can you buy a chicken pie in Ang Mo Kio?
The AMK Hub kiosk of Chicken Pie Kitchen, where the Don pies are sold under the DonChef name, is at 53 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3, #B2-44, next to the NTUC FairPrice Xtra entrance. It is linked to Ang Mo Kio MRT by an underpass and opens daily from 10am to 9pm, as of October 2026 (check before you go; kiosks close earlier if they sell out). It is also one of only two outlets that sell the crab bee hoon. There is no seating, so plan to take away. A dedicated page on Don Pie AMK Hub covers what the kiosk stocks.
Is AMK Hub the nearest Don pie outlet to Toa Payoh?
Yes. Chef Don Lim’s Toa Payoh stalls have closed, and AMK Hub is three MRT stops north of Toa Payoh on the North-South Line. That makes it the closest outlet for anyone in Toa Payoh, Braddell or Bishan who remembers his pies from the Toa Payoh years. Step-by-step MRT routes from Toa Payoh cover the other outlets too.
Other options in the North-East
Chain bakeries with outlets across the island, including Polar, Kopi & Tarts and Délifrance, are the easiest way to get a halal-certified chicken pie nearby; check each chain’s store list. If a curry puff will do instead, Tip Top Curry Puff began in Ang Mo Kio and has an outlet at Compass One in Sengkang. For shepherd’s pie trays, whole sweet pies or frozen pies, use delivery: our delivery guide lists fees and lead times.
